Delicious Fitness – Fitness to make your body Delicious inside and out!
Sooo another fitness blog, well I hope this one can be inspirational and
informative.
My name is Becky and I am 26, I love to play sports and go to the gym. Over
the last two years I haven't found the time to be healthy, but I have found
lots of excuses, a failed gym membership and 25 extra lbs. I also have some bad
family health when it comes to cancer and arthritis. I think just about every
family has some bad genes these days.
My parents have been my
motivation for becoming more aware of my health. My mother who suffers from arthritis, she has a beautiful story that is still playing out. She has always been an inspiration to me, she is strong and beautiful inside and out. My Dad who is dicipined and at the gym working harder then anyone I know five times a week, what an inspiration and motivation they both are to me!
I want to post about my journey into a fit life, full of delicious benefits
from feeling great to looking great...especially for my wonderful husband Kreg (and
our future family one day).
This Christmas my parents gave us a juicer. Wow, what a fun and challenging
gift. We love our juicer, but it can be a drain on our wallet, our time and our
stomachs. Who wants to drink green juice over devouring a delicious pizza! I’m
just being realistic to what we feel as we go through our journey. (FYI my
favorite food is pizza!)
So excuse number 1. NO TIME!
Time to make time for what we care about!
Our goal is to move away from our junk food living and start treating our
bodies with respect. Fruit and Vegetable juice have so many wonderful benefits and
even though our cravings will fight against this at first, I hope we can
re-program our bodies and brains to crave fruits and vegetables first.
As I discover new nuggets of truths I hope to pass them on to you as well.
(I will try to keep them nugget size so we all don’t get board)
Truth number 1: looking for very inspiring and some slap in the face truth
about how badly we treat our bodies and how to heal them from the inside out.
Watch “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” a story about every one I know can relate to.
I loved watching this as it was so inspiring to start our juicing. It gives a
lot of information about how fruits and veggies can heal our bodies and keep
them healthy. I found it on Netflix but if you can’t find it you can buy it at
Reboot your Life.
On the
Reboot your Life site you can get all the information and recipes
to do a juice fast. Kreg and I want to do the standard program which leads you
through a 15 day juice and food fast. I say food because they break it up into
five day increments to prepare you for the juice fast part of it. Five days of
juicing and eating fruits and veggies, five days of just juicing and five days
of juicing and eating fruits and veggies to work your system back to solid
foods again. (more on this to come as I want to blog about our 15day juice fast)
I will say that Kreg and I have been juicing but slowly working our way into
it over the last month. I have noticed my acne worse then normal, I have some
new canker-sores on my tongue and mouth as of yesterday and there have been
some interesting bowl movements. Not to be disgusting but it is a good way to
see the toxins leave your body. So I can hope that these things are good signs
=)
My new year’s resolution for the last two years has been to drink more
water. Last year I did ok, this year I feel it has been easier, I stink at
drinking water! I love my coffee with evil creamer, lol. I don’t know why it’s
such a struggle, maybe because it’s my comfort drink or because caffeine is
highly addictive *smile*. Giving up my coffee will be the hardest in reprogramming
my cravings. It is easy for me to not have a drink of alcohol at night that’s easy
to give up, but coffee is my living force. My strategy is to have coffee every
other day for two weeks and then work from there to decrease it. Yesterday was
my 1st day off….I never get head aches but I did yesterday!!! Ouch!!!
Here is to less coffee and more water!
Well, this is my blog, please join me on my journey and I would love to follow yours as well. Let me know what you do to stay fit!
